National Car Rental in NJ

Renting a car can be a hassle whether it’s for business, pleasure of out of necessity if your car has been decommissioned either permanently or temporarily. However, National Car Rental tries to make the whole process a little bit easier by offering great rates and rock solid service to all of their customers. With several locations in New Jersey to choose from there are multiple options that could fit in with your budget and your needs.

When on business it is, often times, cheaper to fly into New Jersey and simply drive up to New York. However, finding the right rental car company can be more of a hassle than many people want to deal with and so they will pay the extra money for a more direct route. Thankfully there are multiple ways to shop around for the right deals that make it easier on you to save that all too valuable cash.

When shopping for a car rental agency, there is no better way to go about it than to call and speak with the managers of individual locations. These managers, even if they work for the same brand, are often in competition with each other and will likely work with you if you can secure a verifiable quote from one of the other locations or a different company. This will generally lead to you getting more discounts than you would normally have experienced and also allow you to speak with the person you will be doing business with directly.

After you’ve spoken with the manager and made your reservations, because of the niceties that are generally displayed in situations of this nature, you will likely be greeted with above average service. This can lead to a better overall experience with your rental.

Newark International Airport - Your Own Personal Maze

To the uninitiated, Newark International Airport might seem like nothing short of chaos. That’s because it is. Newark Airport in New Jersey has the unsavory reputation of being one of the most tardy airports in the nation. As if that wasn’t enough, the terminals are connected by various busses, shuttles, inter-airport rail systems, even a monorail. You shouldn’t need a GPS to get to the car rental counter. Here’s your escape plan.

When you land at Newark International Airport, you will arrive at terminal A, B, or C. These terminals are connected to each other by the Newark Airport Monorail. It’s an extremely effective system, transporting passengers from one terminal to the next. What’s important to note here is that the car rental stations are located to the south, in stations P1 and P2. The following car rental companies are in P2: Budget, Dollar, and Enterprise. The premium car rental companies are located in P1: Avis, Hertz, and National.

If you’re not renting a car this time, you’re in luck: New Jersey boasts quite an impressive public transit system. To get there, instead of taking the monorail south as if you were going to the car rental counters, take the monorail north, past the parking garage. The parking garage also hosts valet parking as well as courtesy shuttles. You will finally reach the Newark Liberty International Airport Station. From there, you can transfer onto the rail system and head anywhere in New Jersey, as well as New York.

Just remember when you land: if you head south, the car rental companies are located in P2 and P3. If you head north, you will end up at the parking garage and rail terminals. Have happy and safe travel!
