Although you may not have considered getting a rental car for your trip to New Jersey, I am going to use this post to explain to you why it actually is a good idea to get a rental car when you take a trip to New Jersey.

Since you are more than likely flying to New Jersey, once you arrive there, you are going to need a way to get around. I don’t know about you, but I like being able to drive when I am somewhere (regardless of whether it is my home city or a city that I am visiting). The reason that being able to drive your own car is such a good thing is because it gives you complete freedom over what you do with your day. You never have to worry about the schedule of anyone else, so if you decide that you want to go somewhere, you can hop in your car and go there.

Now that you can see the advantage of having a rental car in New Jersey, I think that there is a good chance that you will make a rental car reservation before you leave for your trip.

Chances are, you have at least some form of a negative stereotype about New Jersey. Whether it’s from what people have told you or what you have seen on television, most people don’t have the highest opinion of New Jersey. I would be lying if I said that I didn’t used to feel the same way about New Jersey. So, as you can imagine, when my boss told me that he was sending me on a six day business trip to New Jersey, I was anything but excited.

Although I began my trip with a negative attitude, I’m happy to say that I ended up having a really good time in New Jersey. The business side of my trip was over everyday by five or six, so I had a substantial amount of time to check out what the city of New Jersey was all about. While I definitely noticed some of the stereotypes that I had heard about, these things honestly didn’t have any sort of negative impact on my trip. If my boss ever tells me that he is sending me to New Jersey for another business trip, I will actually be excited to go this time around.

Do you have any family (or friends for that matter) who live in New Jersey? If so, we have something in common. Although not all of my family members live in New Jersey, there are quite a few who call this place home. Because I do have multiple family members who live in New Jersey, I almost always go up there at some point during the holiday season. However, this year I stayed extremely busy at work during the holidays, and although I really wanted to go see them, there was simply no realistic way for me to successfully do that.

Fortunately, even though I didn’t get to see them during the holiday season, I am still going to get to see them now. Things have calmed down at work (at least for the time being), so I have booked a flight, hotel and rental car in New Jersey in just over three weeks. My trip is going to last for a total of five days, and now that I have had a chance to tell all of my family members that I am coming to visit them, they are all extremely excited to get the chance to spend some time with me.

Although I did enjoy the holiday season, I would be lying if I said that it didn’t get to the point where it seemed really long. I think that the reason this holiday season seemed so long was because I was away from home for so long. I’m currently in college in Oklahoma, and as soon as my finals were over, I packed up with my family and headed up in a rental car to New Jersey. We have a lot of family members throughout New Jersey, so it was nice getting to see all of them.

However, the reason that things got long was because we were in New Jersey for a full two weeks. It’s nice getting to spend a lot of time with your family members, but after about a week of being away, I definitely started to notice that I was getting extremely homesick.

While the second week of my trip seemed to drag on forever, being away from home for so long did have its benefits. I have a great group of friends who really care about me, and because they had missed me so much while I was gone, they threw an awesome welcome home party for me when I got back!
